Vocal Essence's 40th Birthday with Garrison Keillor
Sweet Miniature Lemon Meringue Tartlets for such a nice event. These Little Sweeties along with my other Petite's fit the bill to an Anniversary well deserved.
Growing up on Little West Twin Lake or affectionately referred to as "Grandpa's Lake" is where so many fond memories were made. Grandma had a fireplace built in the kitchen so she could do much of her roasting and baking at the same time. In the hot months she would bake out in Her summer kitchen that Grandpa had built. It mean't hard work daily in that very large Victory Garden and as Grandpa always said: Weed first and then you can swim.
I remember as a little girl going out early in the morning with my mint green colored Tupperware bowl and gather up Red and Golden Raspberries from the manicured rows and take them in the house and adding cream and sugar over them for my breakfast.
So much of what I do especially with the Desserts and presentation comes from what my Grandparents taught me. I now know why I had to weed so much.
