Cupcakes Everyone?

The Bride could not decide on which Cupcake to choose from? Lemon, Chocolate or Vanilla? So with that thought she said "We'll take all of the choices that way everyone can have a couple of the little cakes. I think it was a wise choice, besides, she may want to save a couple of the cakes for themselves after the long and exhausting day. Congratulations Michelle and Ryan on your future Wedding.

Chris And Kendra found us at the Bridal Show this past season and said: We only want you to design and make our cake for us. That can be a curse or a blessing once said out loud. This fun and refreshing couple made it an easy transformation from paper to the actual construction of this 4 Tier Wedding Cake. The four cakes were filled with my fresh raspberry puree for two of the fillings and the third filling was made with Italian Buttercream to match the exterior's Icing. Kendra had kept her dress design a secret from Chris so it could be designed onto the cake as a surprise for him. Small intricate fondant flowers were placed on each of the Tiers along with silver beading placed in each petal followed by cascading leave work very lightly placed onto the tiers. Chris personally carried the Cake Topper made for them on his lap all the way home from Florida. Such a special couple. I wish you both the very best in your new future together.

Mary Had A Little Lamb Christening Cake

This Cake was a fun fun project to do. The Mpls. St. Paul Magazine asked if I would like to be a part of their June 2009 Issue. Making this cake turned out completely different than where I was starting to take it. I loved the way things came together. A soft yelow colored Fondant covered the cake with a Hand Painted Nursery Rhyme of "Mary Had A Little Lamb It's Fleece Was White As Snow" followed with a sweet bouquet of fresh Daffodils. Classic Children's Nursery Rhymes with hand painted scenes are items we specialize in.

Toasted Coconut Cupcakes anyone?

Having 25 friends over for a big night of sports on TV? What's a girl to do? Cupcakes of course. Dark Red Velvet Cupcakes with our creamy Coconut Cream Icing and Toasted Coconut flakes

were a "HIT" with her husband and his buddies. Thank goodness the Vikes won.

Bridal Show

We had no idea on what to expect at the bridal show and how the young brides would react to our flavors for their tastes. It was alot of work to prepare for this but in the end it was well worth it. We met so many nice people with an exciting future in front of them. Our Hand Painted Three Tiered Fondant Cake and the Groomsmen Card Cake provided curiosity for the brides and their Fiance's. It was a great way to introduce ourselves and share alittle bit of what and who we are. Hand Painted Designs from dresses or flowers or another significant meaning can be re-created for you.

Spalon Montage

(Center Top and Front) The tinted pink fondant flowers rest upon a "2 inch" Two Tier Wedding Cake Brownie with chopped walnuts cascading down the side of each one. It is a sure treat for all of Spalon's wonderful clients and besides who can pass up a little chocolate?

Morningside Women's Club Tea Party for 75

This Tea Party brought out the girl in all the women at this Tea. It was just fun to watch them as they peered over the counters hoping to get a glimpse of all the sweets. Tall pedestal cake stands filled to their fullest along with sweet petite's filled with Lemon Curd or the Bavarian Creme with fresh fruits and of course alittle mint leaf to add color with savory Tea Sandwiches and Cookies made this a memorable event for the ladies. I'm excited to see what next year will bring for new ideas with this event. The sky is the limit and we are here to please.

Miniature Individual Petite's

Pineapple Upside Down Cake is so much fun when adding Whipped Cream to it. These individual sweet cakes work well for picnics or quick get-togethers. We love to see the reaction from clients after they have seen and tasted the sweet filled cakes and don't feel so bad about indulging on these. Just the right size.

Bridal Shower at The Marsh.

The weather was absolutely perfect for this bride to be and her 8 closest friends. Sometimes small is better and what a great place to enjoy friends and nature all at your fingertips. I decided to put chopped Pistachios on the Miniature Tartlets to compliment the Raspberry for each one. Pink papers added abit of whimsy and girl to the look they wanted.

Sweet Miniature Lemon Meringue Tartlets for such a nice event. These Little Sweeties along with my other Petite's fit the bill to an Anniversary well deserved.

KEVIN AND JANA'S WEDDING SURPRISE

These Two great people surprised all family and friends by running or should I say walking away to elope with only "one month" of dating. It is interesting how things work out for couples who really do fit. This is a happy and peaceful union. Jana is a dear close friend of our family so it was an honor to be asked to make her and Kevin's Wedding Reception Cake and other desserts for their day. Miaggiano's is a wonderful place for a beautiful event such as this. Jana wanted my Old Fashioned Vanilla Cake with our Italian Buttercream for the Icing. The layers were filled with white chocolate mousse. The outside of the cake had small and medium sized white fondant flowers randomly placed everywhere. How funny it was as we were desperately putting the flowers back on the cake as fast as we could because in the cooler they kept popping off from the buttercream tighting up to the cold. It was crazy to say the least and we could not stop laughing in back. Well, Jana screamed out as Kevin was feeding her cake. Heather this cake is so moist and so good. Thank you. I was trying to stay hidden, but that'll do it. Congratulations to such a nice couple - even if they walked away to elope.

ROOM TO READ EVENT

Over 700 Million people do not know how to read. This organization called "Room To Read" is trying to make a global impact on this very "taken for granted gift." Donkey's are loaded up with packs of books and then given to the villager's in their own language. Many people have never even seen a book in their lifetime let alone read a book. It was an honor to be asked to be a part of this evening. For the event we served our Miniature Petite's -Lemon Meringue Tartlets with a yummy handmade sweet crust and a Baked Meringue for each one. The Miniature Cheesecakes had a hint of cinnamon and lemon zest in them followed by our Triple Berry Puree' and then topped off individually with a fresh organic raspberry -mmmm.
